1 c. butter
1 c. sugar
1 c. molasses
1 egg
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking soda, dissolved in 1/2 c. water
4 1/2 c. white flour

Cream butter and sugar; add the rest and mix. Drop by teaspoonful on greased sheet. Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes. Ice cookies while hot.

ICING:

2 tbsp. melted butter
4 tbsp. hot coffee
2 tsp. vanilla
3-4 c. powdered sugar

Mix and add small amounts of water if needed for spreading.
