ICED SUGAR COOKIES 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar
1 c. butter
1/4 tsp. almond flavoring
1 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Cream sugar and butter. Add eggs. Mix. Stir in almond flavoring and vanilla. Stir in soda and cream of tartar. Add flour. Mix well. Refrigerate 2 to 3 hours. Roll thin. Bake at 375 degrees for 7 to 8 minutes or until delicately brown.

ICING:

3/4 c. shortening
3 to 4 c. powdered sugar
2 to 3 drops food coloring

Use enough powdered sugar to make easy spreading. Any food coloring may be used that you wish.
