ALMOND BUTTER CAKE 
2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 egg yolk
1 c. butter
1 tsp. almond extract
1 egg white
Chopped or blanched, slivered almonds

Mix sugar, yolk, butter, extract together. Add flour, mix thoroughly (will be crumbly). Press into pan (round or square cake or pie pan). Brush with egg white, sprinkle with almonds. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes or longer until firm to the touch.
