CRAB CAKES 
1 lb. crab meat
2 tbsp. minced onion
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 egg
1 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 c. fine bread crumbs

Brown onions lightly in 1/4 cup shortening. Add crab meat, salt, pepper, mustard and egg and mix well. Shape into cakes. Make them small, roll in fine bread crumbs and fry until golden brown in deep shortening (heated to 365 degrees) and pan fry in hot shortening.
