SHORT RIBS IN BROWN GRAVY 
2 lbs. beef short ribs (cut into servings)
2 tbsp. oil
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. water
1 onion, sliced

Brown short ribs on all sides in hot oil in skillet. Add salt, pepper, water and onion. Cover tightly. Simmer for 2 hours. Combine 1 tablespoon flour, 1/4 cup water. Stir into broth around ribs and boil for a couple of minutes. Serves 4.
