CROCK POT BEANS OLE! 
1 lb. pinto beans

3-4 lb. fresh pork picnic or 2 fresh pork hocks

1 lg. onion, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tbsp. salt

2 tbsp. chili powder

1 tbsp. cumin

1 tsp. oregano

1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies

Put all ingredients in crock pot. Add 8 cups boiling water. Cover. Cook on high at least 8 hours. The longer it cooks, the better it gets. Remove meat from bone. Return to pot. Serve with soft flour tortillas.

Thank you for this fantastic recipe! It smells so good and tastes wonderful. I like to eat it as is for the first meal or two, then mash it all up like refried beans for burritos. The result is smooth, rich - and tasty. I just add a bit more garlic, along with the Mexican spice achiote.
