DATE NUT BARS 
1/4 c. softened butter
3/4 c. sugar (1/2 brown, 1/2 white)
1 egg
1 2/3 c. Bisquick
1/2 c. dates, chopped (Dromendary dates)
1 c. walnuts, chopped
Handful chopped raisins

Mix sugar, butter and egg. Stir in Bisquick, dates, raisins, nuts. Spread in pan evenly don't raise. Batter up on edges. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes in 9 x 9 x 2 inch greased and floured pan.

Remove from oven and SLICE RIGHT AWAY. Cool in pan. Sprinkle with powdered sugar, be generous.
