CHERRY MUFFINS 
2 c. flour
1/4 c. chopped maraschino cherries
1 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c. sugar
1 tbsp. baking powder
3/4 c. milk
3 tbsp. maraschino cherry juice
2 tbsp. sugar
2 tbsp. chopped almonds

Combine dry ingredients, make well in center. Combine liquid ingredients, add to dry, stir just until moistened. Spoon into greased muffin tins. Fill 2/3 full. Combine almonds and sugar, sprinkle over muffins. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. Makes 1 dozen.
