POPPY SEED DRESSING 
1 1/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. vinegar
2 tsp. dry mustard
2 tsp. salt
2 or more tbsp. poppy seeds
2 tbsp. grated onion
2 c. salad oil

With mixer combine all ingredients except salad oil. Add oil very slowly; dressing will become thick. This recipe is easily adapted to a food processor: with standard blade process 1/2 small onion very fine, add remaining ingredients except oil and poppy seeds and mix well. Very slowly add oil or use feed tube; dressing will be thick. Add poppy seeds last. This makes 1 quart of dressing that keeps well in refrigerator.
