2 1/2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
3/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. allspice
1 1/2 c. applesauce
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. nuts, chopped

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix together all ingredients until well blended. Grease and flour 1 (13 x 9 inch) pan or 2 loaf pans. Bake 50 to 60 minutes until center is done. Works well to freeze.
