2 c. sugar
3 eggs
1 1/3 c. oil
1/2 c. orange juice
1 c. nuts
1 c. coconut
1 c. diced apples
3 c. plain flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Mix sugar, eggs, oil and add orange juice, flour, coconut, apples and nuts. Bake in tube pan at 325 degrees for 1 1/2 hours. Cover with sauce for apple cake.

SAUCE:

1 stick butter
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda

Melt butter, add sugar, buttermilk and soda. Bring to a hard boil. Pour over cake in pan. Let stand 1 hour before removing from pan.
