PAULINE'S BUTTERSCOTCH THINS | |
1/2 c. butter 1 c. butterscotch bits 2/3 c. brown sugar 1 egg 1 1/3 c. flour 3/4 tsp. baking soda 3/4 tsp. vanilla 1/3 c. nuts, chopped fine Melt butter and butterscotch bits over low heat. Remove from heat. Beat into it the brown sugar and egg with a wooden spoon. Stir in flour, soda, vanilla, and nuts. Chill for a couple of hours, then make into 2 rolls. Chill again. Slice paper thin and place on foil-lined cookie sheet, not too close or they will run into each other. Bake only 5 minutes at 350 degrees or until golden brown. Remove to brown paper to cool. |
