SOUTH OF THE BORDER CORNBREAD 
1 c. yellow cornmeal
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. melted shortening
1 c. sour cream
1 (8 oz.) can creamed corn
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 (4 oz.) can chopped green chilies, drained

Combine cornmeal, salt and soda; blend well and add shortening stirring in well. Add sour cream, corn, eggs and mix well. Add green chilies, cheese and stir well. Pour into greased baking dish. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
