ASPARAGUS RICE 
1 stick butter, unsalted
1 med. onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 c. long grain rice (raw)
1 3/4 c. chicken broth or 1 (14 oz.) can
1 lb. fresh asparagus, trimmed, peeled & cut in 1 inch pieces
2 tbsp. fresh parsley, chopped

IN 3 quart round casserole, add butter, onion, garlic. Cover and microwave on High 3 minutes or until onion is tender. Stir in raw rice coating every grain. Stir in broth. Cover and microwave 6 minutes on High. Then microwave on medium for 5 minutes. Stir in the asparagus and microwave on medium five minutes or until most of liquid is gone. Then stir in parsley, cover and let stand five minutes.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
