POLISH POUND CAKE 
1 c. butter & shortening mixed (1 stick butter & 8 tbsp. shortening)
2 c. sugar
4 eggs, beat after each egg is added
3 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1 tbsp. vanilla
2 or 3 oz. bourbon
1 c. milk

Cream butter and shortening together. Add sugar and beat well. Add eggs one at a time. Beat well after adding each egg. Sift flour and baking powder together 4 or 5 times. Alternately add milk and flour mixture to egg mixture. Add vanilla then bourbon and last 2/3 cup nuts which have been floured.

Mix 1/3 cup powdered sugar and 1/3 cup nuts together. Put on top of cake before baking. Bake in greased tube pan for 1 hour at 350 degrees
