1 1/2 c. flour
1 1/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. cocoa
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. milk
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla

Combine all ingredients together in bowl, beat with electric mixer until well blended. Pour in greased 9"x13" cake pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Cool and frost with favorite frosting.
