NANA'S (MY MOM'S) YUGOSLAVIAN COLE SLAW | |
1 med. head cabbage 2 carrots 1 green pepper Vinegar to taste Oil Salt & pepper to taste Slice cabbage at slicer part of grater. Salt lightly and mix to uniform salt. Grate carrots on coarse grater part. Sprinkle a little salt over carrots lightly. Do not mix. Let stand for 5 minutes to let salt penetrate. Cut pepper in quarters and grate on coarse grater part on fleshy side of pepper, to avoid using skin of pepper. Add vinegar and oil and mix thoroughly. Add more pepper and more salt, if desired and mix thoroughly again. Chill and serve. |
