KEN'S BIRTHDAY CAKE | |
3 squares unsweetened chocolate 1/2 c. (1 stick) butter 1 c. water 2 c. sifted flour 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 2 eggs 1 c. (8 oz.) sour cream 2 c. sugar 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1. Combine 3 squares of chocolate, the 1/2 cup of butter and water in pan and put on top of stove on lowest setting until chocolate and butter melts. 2. Sift the flour once before measuring and then sift the flour, soda and salt together. 3. Beat eggs with sour cream in mixing bowl until blended; beat in sugar and vanilla; stir in melted chocolate mixture. 4. Beat in flour mixture (batter will be thin). 5. Pour into pans and bake in 350 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes. 6. To make cake extra moist, after it's cooled put in freezer and then frost. I always use a non dairy whipped topping as frosting such as Cool Whip. |
