ALLIE'S KOLACHES 
1 1/2 c. scalded milk
2 pkgs. dry yeast
1 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. flour

Cool milk to lukewarm, add sugar, yeast and flour. Beat to pancake consistency.

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. Crisco
3 eggs
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 to 3 c. flour

Cream butter, sugar, and salt. Add eggs. Add to milk, sugar, yeast and flour mixture. Then add flour. Beat until smooth, cover with plastic wrap. Refrigerate overnight. Roll out dough; cut with biscuit cutter. Put on a greased cookie sheet. Brush tops with melted butter. Let dough rise. Punch centers down; fill centers with fruit. Let rise 10 minutes more. Cook at 375 degrees for 15 minutes.

TOPPING:

1 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1 c. flour

Crumble together; place a generous pinch on each Kolache. Bake. Ice with powdered sugar frosting.
