TURKEY DRESSING | |
3 eggs 2 c. buttermilk 2 c. plain cornmeal 1/2 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. baking powder 2 sticks butter, melted 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. sugar Beat eggs, add buttermilk, mix the soda, baking powder, salt and sugar with meal and beat into egg mixture. Add melted butter. Pour into a greased pan and bake at 350 degrees until golden brown. 1 loaf bread 2 med. onions, minced 1 c. celery, chopped fine 4 eggs 1/2 tsp. black pepper 1 c. melted butter Make dressing while egg, bread hot; crumble the bread and loaf of bread (never use biscuits); soften the bread with turkey broth which you have left after cooking turkey. Add butter, eggs, melted butter, pepper, onions, celery. If too thin add a little more bread. Mold in into balls and place on a buttered pan. Brown at 350 degrees until golden, remove from oven and pour another cup broth over the dressing and return to oven for a few minutes. |
