SOUP 
1 hambone, some ham attached, but all fat removed
1 pkg. split green peas
2 cut up carrots, small pieces
1 lg. onion, small pieces
4 stalks celery, small pieces
2 to 4 cloves garlic, minced
3 to 4 cans chicken broth
1 tsp. caraway seeds
3 to 4 dashes of white Worcestershire sauce
2 tsp. thyme, fresh if possible
Several sprigs fresh parsley, cut
Butter for sauteing onions
1 to 2 c. white onions
Salt and pepper to taste, pepper should be fresh ground

Soak peas in water several hours or overnight. Pour off water. Serves 6 to 8.
