CANADIAN MEAT PIE
3/4 lb. ground lean beef
3/4 lb. ground lean pork
1/2 tsp. onion salt
1/2 tsp. celery salt
Dash pepper
Dash thyme
1 tsp. chopped parsley

Place the above ingredients in saucepan with 3/4 cup of cold water. Cover and simmer on low flame for 1 hour. When you remove from stove, cool, place in refrigerator overnight so it will be well seasoned.

PIE CRUST:

9 or 11 inch plate
1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. Crisco
Ice water

Combine ingredients using enough ice water to form a soft ball. Knead some on floured board. Roll out and make lower crust a trifle thicker than top crust. Spread meat mixture between crusts. Bake in 400 degree oven until well browned.

Serve hot with pickles or relish. It is very popular in Canada, especially after midnight mass when families gather to celebrate Noel.
