Starter (amount left after removing 1 c.) 1 egg, beaten 1/4 c. instant dry milk 2 tbsp. oil (for waffles use 4 tbsp. oil) Beat well. In a small bowl, mix: 1 tsp. baking soda 2 tbsp. sugar Sprinkle over batter and fold in. Set fry pan or waffle griddle somewhat hotter than usual. Add small amount of oil and fry until light golden brown. Cheddar cheese is naturally cream-colored but is often dyed a yellow-orange color with annatto, a natural dye, for consumer acceptance. Cook eggs are more nutritious than raw eggs; an important nutrient in eggs, biotin, is available only after heating. Vitamin D is added to milk to improve the absorption of calcium by the body. |
