BOILED OR SOFT CUSTARD 
2 egg yolks or 1 whole egg
1 c. milk
2 tbsp. sugar
Pinch of salt
1/4 tsp. vanilla

Beat egg slightly and add other ingredients, except vanilla. Cook in double boiler with water below boiling point and stir constantly until custard coats a spoon (wooden spoon recommended). Cool; add vanilla and serve cold.
