OLD SWISS CUT OUT COOKIES 
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. sour cream
1/2 c. shortening (lard, butter or Crisco)
4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream shortening (lard), sugar and eggs; then add sour cream and vanilla until well mixed. Sift together dry ingredients blend into creamed mixture.

On lightly floured surface roll half of the dough to 1/4-inch thickness. Cut in desired shapes with cookie cutters.

Bake on ungreased cookie sheet at 350°F oven for about 10 minutes. Cool and frost, if desired.

Makes about 6 dozen.
