BUTTERCREAM FROSTING 
4 c. powdered sugar
1 c. all-vegetable shortening
1 tbsp. white vanilla
4-5 tbsp. water

Mix thoroughly all ingredients. Add additional water 1 tablespoon at a time to achieve a spreadable consistency.

NOTE: If you are coloring the frosting, regular vanilla may be substituted, but use the white vanilla if you want a pure white frosting.
