JACK HORNER CAKE | |
1 c. uncooked prunes, cut in half 1 c. boiling water Mix together and let stand 2 hours. 1 1/2 c. white sugar 1 tsp. salt 1 1/4 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. cloves 1/2 c. salad oil 3 eggs 3/4 c. walnuts, cut up Mix together all dry ingredients and then add prune mixture, oil and eggs. Blend at medium speed for 2 minutes and fold in walnuts. Pour into greased jelly roll pan 10 x 15. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes. Cake may be served two ways: #1. Cut in half crosswise and fill center and top with lemon instant pudding (per directions on box), top with whipping cream or Cool Whip. #2. Cake can be left in pan - frosted with your favorite white frosting sprinkled with nuts and then cut into bars. |
