VERMONT BREAKFAST PIZZA 
2 pizza crusts
3 tbsp. butter
8 apples, peeled and thinly sliced (approx. 12 c.)
1 c. brown sugar, packed
2 tsp. apple pie spice
1 lb. pork sausage links
16 oz. Cheddar cheese (shredded)

Melt butter, add apples and cover. Cook for 6 minutes, uncover, cook and stir for 8 minutes or until apples are almost tender. Stir in brown sugar and spices. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until apples are tender and glazed. Cook sausages and drain. Divide ingredients in half, cover crusts with 1 1/2 cups of cheese.

Spread apples. Bake 1 pizza for 5 minutes at 400 degrees. Arrange sausages on top. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup cheese. Bake 5 minutes longer. NOTES: Apple pie spice - 3 tablespoons cinnamon, 1 teaspoon nutmeg and 1 teaspoon allspice. May substitute apple pie filling for apples.

I have made this recipe since 1997. It's a great breakfast recipe for guests. I make my own pizza crust and poke it all over with a fork before I bake it the first time. I also use a 20 oz can of apple pie filling that I add 1/4 tsp. apple pie spice to. I now use maple flavored ground sausage. Smells heavenly when baking. It's a keeper!
