PLAIN RAISED DOUGHNUTS 
2 eggs
1 c. milk
2 cakes or pkgs. dry yeast
1 tsp. salt
1/4 c. shortening or oil
4 or 5 c. flour

Heat the milk until a skum forms on top; add sugar, salt, and shortening. Beat eggs in small bowl with fork; add to mixture. Dissolve yeast in the warm water. Let set a few minutes, then add to milk mixture. Stir in the flour, part at a time, until a smooth dough is formed. Turn out on floured board and cut out with doughnut cutter to 1/2 inch thickness. Let doughnuts rise, then fry in hot shortening or oil at 350 degrees F. Drain on paper towel, then dip in glaze. Follow directions given for "Just Like at Home Doughnuts" .

CHOCOLATE GLAZE:

6-7 sq. or 1 1/2 c. shredded semi-sweet chocolate
1 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. water
1 c. sugar

Melt chocolate and butter over double boiler. Boil sugar and water to thread stage (230 degrees). Pour syrup into melted chocolate. Stir until it sticks to spoon. Dip doughnuts into glaze.
