5 HOUR STEW 
1 1/2 lbs. unbrowned stew meat, cubed
1 c. celery, sliced
5 carrots, sliced
1 onion, diced
1 can consomme or 4 beef cubes
1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce or 28 oz. can tomatoes
3 tbsp. tapioca
Salt and pepper to taste
1 can green beans may be added the last 30 min.

Mix all ingredients together. Place in a large casserole. Cover and bake at 250 degrees for 5 hours. Stew will brown while baking. The secret is in the slow baking. Serves 8.
