SOFT MOLASSES COOKIES | |
4 1/2 c. plain flour 2 tsp. baking soda 3 tsp. ground ginger 1 tsp. salt 1 c. butter 1 c. brown sugar (packed) 2 eggs 3/4 c. molasses 3/4 c. sour milk Sour milk may be made by adding a tablespoon of vinegar to the sweet milk. Sift flour with baking soda, ginger and salt. Cream shortening and sugar; blend in beaten eggs, then add molasses, beating well. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk, beating well after each addition. Chill well in refrigerator for several hours. If still too soft to roll out and cut cookies, they may be dropped on baking sheet by teaspoonsful and baked at 350 degrees. |
