PUMPKIN PIE (USE SQUASH, ALSO) | |
Always bake crust few minutes before putting in pumpkin. 1 to 1 1/2 c. pumpkin 3 lg. eggs 1 1/3 c. milk 1 c. sugar (can use 1/2 brown sugar, not necessary) 2 tbsp. white syrup 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 1 tsp. vanilla Mix well and pour into the crust that has baked some. Bake in hot oven for 10 minutes then lower heat and bake until done. In case you do not do this just a very good thing to do - take foil and make circle large enough to bent up over edge of crust leaving a circle in bottom. Use this when baking 2 crust pies, also. Crust does not brown too much. Sweet Potatoes - cook potatoes after peeling and slicing. When tender, add sugar - white or brown and cook until there is a heavy syrup. There will not be any water - just the syrup. |
