CABBAGE CASSEROLE 
1 stick butter
4 c. grated cabbage
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1 c. sharp cheese
1 1/2 c. corn flakes
1 c. milk
1 can celery soup

Melt butter in bottom of casserole. Add 1 cup crushed corn flakes. Add cabbage. Combine soup, milk and mayonnaise; pour over cabbage. Top with 1 cup grated sharp cheese and remaining crushed corn flakes. Bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes.

This recipe is better when a medium sized sweet onion, thinly sliced, is layed on top of the cabbage, then add soup mixture on top of the onion slices. This makes an unusual, creamy tasting, wonderful, casserole that goes equally well with a chicken, beef, pork or fish main dish.
