2 1/2 c. milk 3 tbsp. butter 3 pkgs. active dry yeast 2 tbsp. sugar 1 tsp. salt 5 3/4 to 6 1/4 c. flour Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Heat milk and butter, do not scald. Allow milk and butter to cool and mix in yeast. In a large bowl, mix 3 cups flour, sugar and salt. Pour in yeast mixture and mix together gradually add enough flour to form a ball and turn out on board. Knead dough until smooth and satiny or until arms fall off. Place in greased bowl and cover. Let rise until doubled in size. Grease 12 muffin pan. Punch down and divide into 12 balls. Knead each ball a couple of times and place smooth side up in muffin pan. Let rise 15 minutes. Bake at 375 degrees 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and continue cooking 30 to 35 minutes. |
