CARAMEL APPLE OAT SQUARES | |
1 3/4 c. flour 1 c. quick cooking oats 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. butter 1 c. walnuts 20 caramels (unwrapped) 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1 can apple pie filling Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Combine flour, oats, sugar, baking soda and salt; cut in butter until crumbly. Reserving 1 1/2 cups crumb mixture, press remainder on bottom of a 9x13 pan. Bake 15 minutes. Add nuts to reserved crumb mixture in saucepan (or microwave). Melt caramels with condensed milk until smooth. Spoon apple filling over crust; top with caramel mixture, then reserved crumb mixture. Bake 20 minutes or until set. Cool. Serve warm with ice cream if desired. |
