OKRA WITH TOMATOES AND RICE 
4 slices bacon
1/2 c. chopped onion
2 c. cut okra or 1 (10 oz.) frozen okra
1 c. rice
2 cans (1 lb. each) tomatoes
1/2 c. water
1 tsp. salt
Dash of ground cloves

Fry bacon in large Dutch oven until crisp, remove. In bacon fat, cook onions and okra until onions are soft. Stir in rice, tomatoes, water, salt and cloves. Simmer, covered 20 to 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Sprinkle with crumbled bacon. Serves 6 to 8.
