OYSTER STEW 
1 qt. oysters
1 qt. scalded milk
1/2 stick butter
1 tsp. salt
1 sm. onion, grated
A dash or two of pepper

Clean oysters by placing in a colander and pouring a cup of cold water over them. Put oysters in hot butter and leave until the edges curl. Scald milk, add oysters and butter. Serve at once.
