PLAIN CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
1 1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk

Soften butter; beat with sugar until smooth. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Mix flour, baking powder and salt. Add half of flour mix and half of milk to egg mix and beat 300 strokes. Add rest of flour mix and milk and beat another 300 strokes. Fill greased baking pan half full. Bake at 375 degrees for 25-35 minutes until cake springs back with touch.
