POPCORN BALLS 
1 c. unpopped popcorn
1 c. sugar
1 c. peanuts (optional)
1 1/2 c. water
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/4 c. butter

Pop the popcorn, put it and peanuts in large buttered bowl. Butter sides of 2 quart sauce pan. In pan combine water, sugar, corn syrup, butter and salt. Cook to soft ball stage. Pour over popcorn and stir to coat. Let mixture stand 8 minutes or until easy to handle. Shape into balls. Makes approximately 16.
