BUTTER CAKE 
1 1/2 c. butter
1 lb. pkg. powdered sugar
6 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. lemon extract
1/2 tsp. salt
2 1/2 c. flour

Beat butter until soft. Beat in powdered sugar until smooth and fluffy. Beat in egg one at a time. Beat well after each addition. Beat in vanilla and lemon extract and salt.

Gradually stir in flour just until blended. Batter will be stiff. Turn into greased and floured 10 inch tube pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour 10 minutes. Cool 15 minutes and invert on wire rack.
