MUDD PIE 
1 gallon chocolate ice cream
1 box chocolate wafer cookies
2-3 tbsp. butter
1 jar caramel topping
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Put ice cream in large bowl. Let ice stand until completely melted, about 1 hour. Mash cookies with melted butter and line bottom of a 9"x9" baking pan. Pour ice cream on top of cookie crust. Freeze until ice cream is hard. Melt down caramel topping and spread evenly on top of ice cream. Top with chopped nuts. Freeze again, until caramel is hard. Top with whipped cream and cherries if desired. Makes 8 to 10 servings.
