1 c. soft butter
1/2 c. sifted confectioners'
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt

Heat oven to 400 degrees (moderate hot). Mix thoroughly butter, confectioners' sugar, vanilla. Sift flour, salt; stir in. Drop teaspoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheet (cookies do not spread). Bake about 8 minutes until set, but not brown. While still warm sprinkle with confectioners' sugar. Makes 5 dozen cookies the size of a quarter.
