CHICKEN ADOBO 
1 chicken, cut up
5 cloves, crushed
3/4 c. vinegar
3/4 c. water
3 tbsp. soy sauce
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1-2 bay leaves

Put everything in a pot. Cook, uncovered, over medium heat, until liquid is almost gone. Add approximately 4 tablespoons cooking oil and fry chicken until slightly golden brown. Serve with rice, if desired. Great with dinner rolls, too.
