CHICKEN AND DUMPLINGS 
"And we'll all have chicken-n-dumplings when she comes."

Use a large kettle with a tight-fitting lid. Make chicken gravy as usual.

DUMPLINGS:

1 egg, beaten
2 tbsp. milk
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
Flour to make a good stiff dough

Drop by spoonsful into hot gravy. Put on lid and let covered. Cook 5 to 8 minutes. Do not remove cover once. Move from stove and lift lid. Dumplings should be light and fluffy. Serve at once.
