BARBECUED BRISKET 
4 lb. brisket of beef
1 (10 1/2 oz.) can condensed beef consomme
1 (5 oz.) bottle soy sauce
1/4 c. lemon juice
Garlic to taste
1 tbsp. liquid smoke
1/2 c. barbeque sauce

Combine consomme, soy sauce, lemon juice, garlic and liquid smoke. Pour over brisket and marinate overnight. Bake covered at 250 degrees for 3 hours for 4 pound brisket. Remove and pour barbecue sauce over brisket. Increase temperature to 350 degrees and bake another hour. Let rest for 30 minutes. Slice across grain into thin slices. Yields: 16 to 20 servings.
