OVEN BARBECUED CHICKEN 
1 garlic clove, minced
2 tbsp. butter
1 c. catsup
1/4 c. water
2 tbsp. brown sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
2 1/2 - 3 lb. frying chicken, cut up, skinned
3 sm. onions, sliced, separated into rings

Heat oven to 375 degrees. In small saucepan over medium heat, cook garlic in butter about 1 minute or until tender. Stir in catsup, water, brown sugar, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil; reduce heat. Cover; simmer 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Arrange chicken pieces in ungreased 12"x8" (2 quart) baking dish. Place onion rings over chicken; pour sauce over top. Bake at 375 degrees for about 1 hour or until chicken is fork tender and juices run clear, basting occasionally. 4 servings.

Microwave Directions: Place garlic and butter in small microwave safe bowl; cover with microwave safe plastic wrap. Microwave on HIGH for 1 to 1 1/2 minutes or until butter is melted and garlic is tender; stir to blend. Stir in catsup, water, brown sugar, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Arrange chicken pieces in 12"x8" (2 quart) microwave safe dish, placing thickest portions to the outside of dish. Cover with waxed paper. Microwave on HIGH for 15 minutes, re-arranging chicken halfway through cooking; drain. Place onion rings over chicken; pour sauce over top. Cover with waxed paper. microwave on HIGH for 15 to 20 minutes or until chicken is fork tender and juices run clear. Baste with sauce before serving.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
