YUM YUM CAKE 
2 tbsp. butter or 4 tbsp. Crisco
2 c. sugar
2 c. water
3 c. flour
1 tbsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. baking soda
Salt
1 box raisins
1 c. nuts (optional)
1/2 c. fruit (optional)

Wash one box of raisins, add 2 cups of sugar and 2 cups of water, 1 tablespoon of cinnamon, 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves, pinch of salt, 2 tablespoons of butter, or 4 tablespoons of Crisco. Cook until boiling, simmer 5 minutes. Let cool off, then add 3 cups of sifted flour and mix.

Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda in 1 tablespoon hot water and add to mixture. Last add 1 cup of chopped nuts, 1/2 cup of fruit and bake in slow oven - 325 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour - until done. Add a pinch of salt for each cup of flour.
