ITALIAN SPAGHETTI SAUCE WITH
MEAT
 
1 lg. green pepper, chopped
1 onion, chopped
2 cloves chopped garlic
1/2 c. olive oil
1 tbsp. salt
2 tsp. red pepper flakes
2 tsp. basil
2 tsp. oregano
1/2 c. Romano cheese, grated
6 (28 oz.) cans crushed Italian tomatoes
1 (12 oz.) can tomato paste
1 lg. chunk steak, cut into 6-8 pieces
2 lb. hot or sweet Italian sausage links, fried until almost done
Pinch of baking soda

Saute onion, peppers, and garlic in oil for 2 minutes. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a slow boil then lower heat and simmer for 5 hours. You can also add your favorite Italian meatballs to the sauce if desired.
