ANITA'S SHORTBREAD 
1 lb. butter
4 c. flour
1 c. sugar

Mix all ingredients with hands (about 10 minutes) until smooth and pliable. Spread or pat into baking pan (ungreased--about 9x13 inch). Prick all over with a fork.

Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until golden. Cool slightly. Cut into approximately 1 inch squares while warm. Can be frozen.
