LEMON BUTTERMILK POUND CAKE 
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. butter
3 c. sugar
3 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
6 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
2 tsp. lemon flavoring

Have butter, eggs, and buttermilk at room temperature.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees.

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, 2 at a time, beating well after each addition. Sift flour, salt, and baking powder together. Add to batter alternately with buttermilk and lemon flavoring.

Bake approximately 1 hour 10 minutes or until cake tests done. Remove slightly cooled cake to a plate and glaze with Lemon Glaze.

LEMON GLAZE:

2 1/2 c. powdered sugar
2 tbsp. fresh lemon juice
2 tbsp. grated lemon rind
1/2 tsp. salt
